Message to guests

The CPA Professional Education Program (PEP) site contains educational material for candidates registered in a university graduate program accredited by the Ordre des CPA du Québec as part of the PEP. Intended for educators and students registered in the PEP, this material helps students adequately prepare for the CPA profession’s various national examinations, among other things.

Guests and students not registered in a university graduate program do not have access to all the educational material on this site. However, like students registered in the PEP and educators, they can access the presentation and style guides as well as model files which are available on the site under “Reference material”. Guests and students not registered in the PEP can purchase each case study separately. Please contact us to learn more.

CPA Competency Map

All the educational material was developed based on the CPA Competency Map, which describes the knowledge, skills and proficiency levels expected of CPA candidates at the point of qualification.

Case studies

Over 150 case studies that focus on the competencies required of candidates as well as reference material are available on the site for students registered in the PEP and educators. The case studies generally cover several of the following competency areas required to become a CPA: financial reporting, strategy and governance, management accounting, audit and assurance, finance as well as taxation. However, the case study teaching notes can only be accessed by educators, who are responsible for their distribution based on conditions specific to each university.

Consult the latest version of the Policy governing the use of case studies developed by the Order.

Case study writing competition

The Case fight writing competition is intended for candidates registered in the PEP (university graduate program or national program delivered by the Order). This rewarding experience not only enables candidates to apply the theoretical concepts they have learned, but also prepares them to write the Common Final Examination (CFE), the CPA professional examination. The winning teams will share $10,000 in prizes.
